Often, tooth discolouration cannot be removed by bleaching. In this case the use of veneers in Turkey can be helpful. These ceramic veneers not only cover discolouration, but also correct issues like chips or fractures. Even slight misalignments/deformations of the teeth can be corrected by using veneers.
Nobody would refuse a bright smile. Nowadays, it is very easy to cover grey, discoloured, crooked teeth or correct gaps between teeth and thus, to get rid of these issues. A modern type of dentistry offers the possibility to do so, by placing so called dental veneers, which can change the dental appearance in a very short time.
Veneers are wafer-thin shells, made of translucent ceramic. The 0,5 mm thin shells cover the whole visible part of the teeth, so that an aesthetically optimal surface of the teeth is created, which is indistinguishable from natural teeth.
The ceramic shells are fabricated individually in a dental technical laboratory according to an impression of the tooth and thereafter attached to it nearly inextricably by an adhesive procedure.
Veneers are especially well suited for the correction of the incisors and the canines. Outstanding aesthetic results are made possible in cases of slight misalignments, gaps between teeth and discolouration.
Veneers are gentle to the tooth and gums. Due to the high tolerance of the ceramic veneers which are used, health impairments are unlikely. The veneers are quite resilient and long-lasting.
6 FACTS ABOUT VENEERS
REASONS WHY TO USE VENEERS AT FIRST GLANCE?
WHAT ARE VENEERS?
Veneers are custom-made wafer-thin shells, predominantly made of ceramic or plastic. Veneers cover only the visible part of the tooth.
WHO NEEDS VENEERS?
Veneers are not necessary because of medical reasons, they rather serve to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the teeth. Therefore, this treatment is not a pain therapy but an aesthetic intervention and it is up to the patient him/herself to decide whether to have this treatment or not.
However, it is important to have good oral hygiene and caries-free teeth without filling expansions.
HOW ARE VENEERS PLACED?
First the tooth will be prepared for the placement of the veneer and the veneer will be fabricated for each patient individually. As the next step, the tooth will be roughened to enable a better hold of the veneer and afterwards the veneer will be attached to the tooth with a special adhesive. It is possible to treat several teeth in one session.
WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO HAVE VENEERS?
As the teeth are only partially coated with ceramic, after the treatment, they feel the same as natural teeth. The surface of the veneers include physical properties identical to one’s own natural enamel.
Thus, having the feeling of unfamiliarity is prevented. However, after the treatment, the patient has to adapt to the new shape of the tooth.
HOW LONG DO VENEERS LAST?
Some studies have confirmed that veneers are long-lasting. The minimum ‘lifetime’ of veneers is 10 years but they can even last longer.
